Jake Hanlon

Jake Hanlon's reputation as a Composer, Educator and Performer has steadily been on the rise.

A Graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University and the University of North Texas, Hanlon has performed with a 'who's who," in the Canadian Jazz scene as well as performing or working in Education with such Jazz Guitarists as John Abercrombie, Vic Juris, Lorne Lofsky, Jonathan Kreisberg and many more.  As a composer Hanlon was a resident in the Jazz Ahead program in Washington DC in the spring of 2007, featured on All About Jazz and recorded a yet to be released CD of original Material.

Hanlon is currently an Associate Lecturer at Saint Francis Xavier University where he teaches Jazz Guitar, Small Ensemble, Theory, Masterclasses and has also taught Guitar Ensemble and Small Ensemble Arranging.  Previously Hanlon was the Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas from August 07 until May 08 where he taught Jazz Guitar, Guitar Ensembles (the L5 and Super400), and Jazz Guitar Fundamentals (under Fred Hamilton).  He was a member of the 3 O'Clock Lab band, L5 Guitar Ensemble and performed with the Two O'Clock Lab Band.
