In 2007 Austin decided to attend the University of North Texas in Denton, TX on scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies in 2011.
Upon graduation, Austin decided to continue his education and pursue his Master's at UNT. In 2011, he was hired as a full time Teaching Fellow, whose duties included teaching Jazz Keyboard Fundamentals and acting as Musical Director of the Zebras contemporary ensemble. He graduated in May 2013, and the following year joined the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra for their world tour. From May 2014 - February 2015 he performed in 44 states and multiple countries including Canada and Japan.
Austin is now based in Los Angeles and is quickly becoming one of the most in demand players in the area.
